Nationwide mortgage rates 'altered'

Nationwide last week announced that it will be altering the rates available on its fixed-rate and tracker mortgages.

Available from tomorrow, the changes will see two, three, five, ten and 25-year packages being rolled out at 5.32, 5.68, 5.48, 5.48 and 5.63 per cent.

The rate on the various fixed-rate packages, which should afford peace of mind about similar monthly repayments to homeowners, will depend upon whether a product fee is paid for or not.

The two-year tracker packages are also being rolled out at 4.98 per cent with a £599 fee and 5.38 per cent when no fee is paid.

A series of changes are also being carried out on a range of Nationwide mortgages designed for people looking to remortgage their property.

Customers who are keen to switch from one Nationwide mortgage to another will benefit from a £200 discount off their reservation fee.

All Nationwide mortgages also afford customers flexible payment structures, with the ability to overpay, underpay and take payment holidays.
