Bupa critical illness packages 'enhanced'

Private healthcare provider Bupa has announced that it will be enhancing its critical illness plans from today.

Revised to fit the new statement of practice from the Association of British Insurers, Bupa's critical illness plan covers 37 conditions as well as 14 additional conditions above the minimum standard.

The Bupa plan also allows for child cover benefit of 25 per cent up to £25,000 and the terms are valid for up to 40 years of cover.

If the group excludes certain conditions from the Bupa package, premiums will be reduced at the assessment stage.

Steve Casey, product and marketing manager at Bupa individual protection, said the group was "pleased to offer enhanced coverage to our members".

He added: "We are especially pleased by the introduction of a family income benefit style and the reductions we are able to offer members when we have to exclude a certain condition."
