Customers taking up one of the Post Office's many insurance packages are set to enjoy the benefits of a month's cover entirely free.

Available from May 1st 2007, the enticing benefit on car, van or home contents insurance policy sits comfortably alongside the group's already competitive packages.

Post Office insurance packages already offer savings of up to £129 on car insurance and £173 on home insurance.

The group's head of communications, Claire Oldstein, said: "Our £50 cash back offer was really successful. We want to continue offering customers great deals.

"Post Office car insurance policies offer a host of benefits – new policyholders can now take advantage of these for even less money," she added.

Post Office insurance packages have a number of attractive features, with its car cover giving a three-year guarantee on repairs.

The group's home insurance also provides 24-hour home assistance cover, accidental damage cover and includes £500 worth of garden cover.
