Zurich account 'guarantees' capital

Zurich has launched the latest version of its guaranteed capital account, which has been available in its branches since April 23rd.

Open until May 24th, the Zurich account is linked to the FTSE 100, offering 135 per cent of any growth experienced in the index.

The Zurich account will also be geared to operate so that as one tranche of the product ends another will commence, meaning it will be in use throughout the year.

Operating over five and a half years, the Zurich account guarantees that 100 per cent of an investment will be returned, while it also offers an early maturity feature, meaning the account will be closed if 30 per cent growth has been experienced.

Paul Wright, Zurich's investment management director, said: "Previous tranches issued this year have proved an attractive option to investors.

"Advisers and clients both like this simply-structured product which provides capital security, as well as the potential of high levels of stock market linked returns," he added.
