Halifax home insurance 'beats off competition'

Halifax has launched a new home insurance offer which promises to beat off any competition.

Research carried out by the group shows that Halifax home insurance packages beat renewal quotes by an average of £105.

As a further incentive to pick up Halifax home insurance packages, the group has promised to freeze premiums for new customers for the first three years.

Tom Woolgrove, managing director of Halifax home insurance, said: "We are currently the only insurer who aims to beat any competitor's renewal quote for buildings and contents insurance and then promises to freeze that premium for a three-year period."

Those people who purchase Halifax home insurance packages online will benefit from a 25 per cent reduction in their annual premiums.

Commenting on the Halifax insurance package, Richard Marriot, head of household products and marketing for Halifax, said: "We are confident that this will be welcomed by homeowners."
