Post Office credit card a "great deal"

Consumers may not all be using their credit cards in the most effective way to manage their finances.

Research carried out by the Post Office indicates that some 60 per cent of card users do not take advantage of the benefits offered by their card.

Almost half say they receive no benefits at all, while consumers who use cash back schemes say they benefit to the tune of £37 annually.

Some of the most valued features on a credit card include low interest rates, zero per cent on balance transfers and purchases.

The new Post Office credit card offers a number of enticing incentives, including zero per cent on balance transfers for ten months and for five months in the anniversary years of 2008 and 2009.

The managing director of the Post Office, Allan Cook, said: "The Post Office has listened to what people want from their credit card."

"That's why we're the first in the market to launch a unique card that offers a combination of features – bringing real value to customers so they can get a great deal," he added
