Coventry account 'assists' older consumers

Coventry Building Society has today launched an addition to its account for people aged 60 and over.

The new Sixty-Plus eSave account offers a competitive rate of 6.20 per cent, a rate which will be fixed until March 31st 2008.

Coventry's easy access account, which is also operated online, enables penalty-free access.

The minimum investment on the Coventry account is just £1, while a maximum of £250,000 is possible.

Colin Franklin, head of sales at Coventry, described the age group for which the account was directed as being "more than happy to deal with their finances online".

He said that the combination of the fixed-rate element would prove to be "extremely popular in this growing market".

For more information on the Coventry account, consumers should log on to the group's website.
