Direct Line insurance packages 'beneficial'

Direct Line is encouraging those people who take more than one holiday a year to be able to deal with any eventuality by taking out a comprehensive insurance package.

Carmel McCarthy, Direct Line's PR manager, says that the group has policies which can cater for the needs of all types of consumers.

Direct Lines' tailored insurance policy enables consumers who have already taken on home insurance with the group to enjoy cheaper discounts.

Single trip and annual policies are both offered by Direct Line, while the group also provides a Discoverer policy designed specifically for young people to work while they travel.

Ms McCarthy said that people planning a trip of over 30 days should choose the Discoverer policy as it provides 364 days cover and allows the option for people who want to work.

"I think you need to be careful when you take out an annual policy, that if you are undergoing dangerous activities you need to inform your insurer or at least get confirmation that those activities are actually covered," she added
