Halifax Travel Insurance: Do not travel without cover

If a flight is delayed or cancelled, airlines do not have to offer compensation to passengers, the insurer reminded.
Halifax also advised travelers to make sure to have enough money to buy food and drink at the airport in case of such delays.
Drinking excessive amounts of coffee and tea while waiting for a plane is not a good idea either, as both drinks can dehydrate the body.
Vicky Emmott, senior manager of underwriting for Halifax Travel Insurance said: "When traveling by air you need to plan for every eventuality, including delays.
"Heightened security at airports is now a fact of life, but can lead to long and frustrating delays for passengers and for many it can ruin the start of a much anticipated trip or holiday."
Ms Emmott added that all travelers should have insurance cover for any eventuality.
Recent flooding across the UK has caused travel chaos in some areas.
