Abbey Credit Cards to offer cashback deal

The option of receiving cashback is the most popular reason that consumers choose a particular credit card, according to an Abbey Credit Cards survey.

In keeping with that finding, Abbey Credit Cards has said that it is offering customers a five per cent cashback deal on the first £1,000 of purchases made with the card at major supermarkets.

Additionally, the offer includes a zero per cent balance transfer rate for 12 months, zero per cent on purchases for three months and an ongoing purchase rate of 15.9 per cent.

Research from Abbey Credit Cards found that 7.7 million people are planning to reduce the number of credit cards they maintain.

The findings indicated that 20 per cent of people say they value cashback the most when deciding which credit card they keep and which they cancel.

Meanwhile, Abbey Savings recently issued a new fixed-term savings bond which is aimed at helping existing customers benefit from current market conditions.
