Co-operative Investments teams up with smile

Co-operative Investments has announced that it is giving consumers the chance to invest in its socially responsible investment fund (SRI) without paying the customary five per cent joining fee.

The investment outfit has teamed up with smile Invest to offer the deal to anyone investing in its Sustainable Leaders Trust.

The Sustainable Leaders Trust was the first SRI to top the UK All Companies Sector earlier this year.

Zach Hocking, head of investment solutions at Co-operative Investments, commented: "This is an excellent opportunity to invest in an award-winning unit trust without paying any of the usual fees when investing.

"But the offer won't be available for long, so investors should take advantage of it while they can."

The smile invest service is part of the internet bank smile and is part of Co-operative Financial Services.

The Co-operative Bank launched its ethical policy in 1992.
