AXA: Employers should allow staff time to budget

AXA has announced that it is creating a day when employers will be asked to let their employees have an hour to sort out their finances.

November 21st will officially be My Budget Day. The effort has the support of the Confederation of British Industry and Unite, one of the largest unions in the UK.

All 12,000 AXA employees will get one hour in the beginning of the day to work on their finances, the company has already promised.

Steve Folkard of AXA said: "Money is one of the major causes of stress for adults and as such it is a major cause of employee absenteeism.

"The annual cost of stress to UK plc is estimated to be around £9.6 billion. That's equivalent to £18,264.84 per second or £329.89 per employee."

AXA is headquartered in France and offers life, health and many other kinds of insurance.
