Nationwide credit card protection updated

Nationwide Building Society has announced that it has improved its card protection product.

Card Protection is available for both credit and debit cards and comes at a cost of £29 per year.

The product ensures that all of a household's cards - including credit, debit and store cards - are protected against loss or theft.

Some of the features included in the new enhanced Card Protection include the facility to order replacement cards with a single phone call, card protection and financial assistance in the case of a lost wallet and lost key assistance.

The Nationwide product also offers replacements for passports and driving licences which may have been stolen or lost, as well as unauthorised use protection for mobile phones.

Additionally, travellers may appreciate the ability to obtain emergency cash and replacements for their travel tickets while on holiday.

Recently, Nationwide called for credit card firms to apply payments to customers' most expensive payments first.
