Tesco mortgage deal 'best'

Tesco is confident enough in its mortgage deal finder to offer £100 to homeowners who can find a better product elsewhere, it has emerged.

Consumers can search for the deal most suited to them through Tesco's Mortgage Finder service.

A free application operated in conjunction with mortgage broker London and County, the mortgage finder searches for the best deal on the customer's behalf and applies to the most suitable lender on their behalf.

The Tesco Mortgage Finder helps consumers avoid the often confusing process of finding the best deal on the market and can save them large amounts of money in the process, commented Colin Robertson, head of lending for Tesco Personal Finance.

"Many people are sitting on uncompetitive mortgage rates and are paying over the odds for their mortgage every month," he commented.

Details on the product can be found via the company's website, or by contacting Tesco by telephone or visiting one of its stores.

Tesco was found to offer cheapest credit compared to its supermarket rivals in a study by Every Investor which was published this week.
