Bradford & Bingley savings account 'a market leader'

A new Bradford & Bingley savings account which is offered as a limited edition is a market leader, the bank has claimed.

The Saver 2 Account offers a best-buy rate of 6.40 per cent per annum gross/AER variable, Braford & Bingley said.

With a required minimum deposit of £1 and a maximum balance of £250,000, people can have easy access to their funds by navigating to the bank's website.

Paul Whitlock, head of savings at Bradford & Bingley, said that consumers should ensure that they seek out a product that is competitive, transparent and flexible.

"We think our Internet Saver 2 Account offers customers the best of both worlds and is perfect for 'cash rich, time poor' customers who want to manage their money at a time that is convenient for them."

In October 2007, Bradford & Bingley also launched the eSavings5 account, with a maximum balance extending to £2,000,000.
