Admiral car insurance warning about Friday

According to Admiral, car insurance customers are more likely to have an accident on January 18th than on any other day of the year.

Additionally, Fridays have been revealed to be the worst day for accidents, regardless of the month.

In contrast, Admiral research found that the safest days for driving are February 29th, December 25th and December 26th.

Admiral managing director Sue Longthom said that "it makes sense" that these are the safest days, since one only takes place every four years and the others do not have many people on the roads.

"However, this year there is a 29th February, and it's on a Friday, so the number of accidents might jump up sharply," she warned.

Ms Longthom added that it is unclear why January 18th is so dangerous, but suggested it could be a result of darkness, poor weather and worries.

Previous research carried out by Admiral revealed that people with more than one vehicle are safer drivers.
