Bradford & Bingley bonds offer "competitive rates"

They include a high street fixed rate bond at 6.7 per cent which is set to mature at the end of July, which could be attractive to customers who want a good return without long-term commitment.
In addition, a one-year fixed bond at 6.2 per cent that matures in February 2009 is available, as well as a two-year fixed rate bond at 5.8 per cent, which will mature on February 10th 2010.
A minimum deposit of £1,000 is required for each bond and there is a maximum balance of £2,000,000.
No withdrawals are allowed for the duration of the bonds, which are available at local B&B branches.
Head of savings Paul Whitlock said: "All three products offer a competitive rate to savers who are looking for the reassurance of a fixed return on their savings."
Recently Bradford & Bingley also launched a limited edition online bond with the same minimum and maximums and a monthly interest rate of 6.31 per cent.
