Buyers show "strong interest" in property

Consumers are not turning their back on the property market, in spite of concerns about economic conditions, it has been suggested.

In January, FindaProperty.com noted a 19 per cent increase in visitors when compared to the same month last year.

Content editor Mike O'Flynn said this suggests a "strong interest" in the property market exists among consumers.

And despite predictions by Oliver Gilmartin, senior economist at the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, last week that there will be a continuation of a "more sluggish" housing and mortgage market, Mr O'Flynn suggested that this might not be all bad for buyers.

He said: "A cooling market has put buyers in the driver's seat and with prices falling in some areas there are undoubtedly deals to be done."

"Now, before rates are cut and the spring surge kicks in, could well be the perfect moment to snap up a bargain."ADNFCR-323-ID-18444531-ADNFCR
