Lloyds TSB joins the mobile generation

Lloyds TSB have announced today that they are adding a Save My Numbers feature and increased mobile phone insurance to their Added Value Accounts.

The accounts already offer a wide range of features, including travel insurance, mobile phone insurance and AA breakdown cover.

However, after doing customer research Lloyds TSB found that one in three account holders would like to see additional features, with increased mobile phone cover and Save My Numbers to back up their mobile contacts coming top of the list.

From April 1st Added Value Account customers will be able to store all the contact numbers saved on their phone on a secure online site, which can then be accessed to download the numbers onto their new mobile in the event the old one is lost.

They will also be able to claim for a replacement phone on their insurance up to a maximum retail value of £2,000, which takes into account the rising cost of high-specification handsets.

Ian Larkin, managing director of consumer banking at Lloyds TSB, said that people are "increasingly reliant" on their mobile phones, which he described as "as essential part of the fabric of modern life".

Earlier this month Lloyds TSB today launched a new fixed-rate cash individual savings account, with an interest rate of up to 6.50 per cent.
