Legal & General awarded top e-commerce rating

The Financial technology Research Centre has awarded Legal & General a top 'eee' rating in all four categories of its annual protection e-Excellence study, which assess the quality to provider's e-commerce service to financial advisors.

Legal & General is one of only two providers to have achieved the 'eee' rating in all four categories, which were life protection, critical illness, income protection and menu.

Bonnie Burns, Legal & General's protection marketing director, said that company hopes to make it easier and faster for advisors to submit and manage their applications, so they are able to give a better service to their customers.

She added that Legal & General has been rated the top company for menu capability, which she believed is becoming "increasingly important for advisors".

"Technology is a key competitive advantage in today's protection market and we continue to put significant resources into this area," Ms Burns said.

Last month Legal & General's life insurance business won Best Service Provider and Best E-commerce Provider at the LifeSearch awards.
