Sainsbury's: Insurance 'vital' for Easter holidaymakers

Thousands of people are set to be travelling overseas for a holiday during the Easter period, but the bank's study found that over 4.2 million people travelled without insurance last time they went abroad.
That equates to 10.68 per cent of Brits heading abroad.
Holidaymakers travelling without insurance would have to cover the cost of lost money, baggage or documents - the most common claims made over Easter - themselves.
Sainsbury's found that Londoners were the most likely to head off on holiday without travel insurance, with one in four of the capital's residents not taking out cover the last time they travelled.
Neil Laird, travel insurance manager at Sainsbury’s Finance, said: "These are alarming figures because taking travel insurance on holiday is as important as packing your passport."
Yesterday Nationwide urged Easter holidaymakers to make sure they are not paying unnecessary charges on their credit and debit card transactions while abroad.
