Co-operative Insurance reveals favourite 'golden oldies'

Bruce Forsyth has proved to be the most popular and favourite long-lasting star in a poll of the most beloved 'golden-oldies', Co-operative Insurance has announced.

Some 40 per cent of those polled voted the 80-year-old star as their favourite with Sean Connery coming in second with 25 per cent of the votes.

David Anderson, chief executive at Co-operative Insurance commented: "Bruce Forsyth is a great example to aspiring 'golden oldies' who no longer see retirement as a time to just sit back and relax, but really want to enjoy their lives to the full."

Mr Anderson also suggested that people should make provisions for their retirement and that financial planning is a necessity for older people wanting to live their retirement in luxury due to rising living costs.

Around 34 million adults over the age of 18 in the UK do not currently have a will, Co-operative Financial Services has revealed.
