LV= reduces flexible protection plan rates

Liverpool Victoria (LV=) has altered its flexible protection plan rates, which will save the majority of its customers money.

It says a man aged 30 next birthday taking out a £100,000 level combined life and CI policy with a 25-year term will now pay £25.97 a month, down from £27.00.

Meanwhile, a woman of the same age taking out a £100,000 level term assurance policy with a 25-year term will now pay £5.82 a month, reduced from £6.20.

Chris McFarlane, head of protection at LV=, commented: "This latest rate review activity is another great example of our commitment to providing quality, competitive protection solutions, for both financial advisers and their clients."

He suggested that the changes to flexible protection plan rates will ensure they remain "both accessible and attractive".

Last month Defaqto awarded LV='s discretionary SIPP product a five star rating.
