Halifax credit card goes green

Halifax has launched a new 'smart' credit card, which offers a number of environmental features.

They include a £20 donation to the Woodland Trust upon first use of the card, carbon-neutral plastic and the option of paperless statements.

Customers can also enjoy zero per cent for nine months on balance transfers and zero per cent for six months on purchases.

The card comes with typical 16.9 per cent APR variable and up to 59 days interest-free credit on purchases when users pay off their balance in full each month.

Adrian Bryant, head of marketing for Halifax Credit Cards, said: "This is a unique card combining two great features - carbon-neutral plastic as well as a donation to the woodland trust. The card also offers an attractive introductory offer and a competitive APR."

Yesterday Halifax launched two new international savings accounts aimed at British expatriates.
