Alliance & Leicester savings account makes a comeback

Alliance & Leicester has reintroduced its Premier Regular Savings account, which will be available to customers opening a Premier Current Account with the bank from today.

The savings account has an interest rate of 12 per cent per annum gross/AER and fixed monthly payments of between £10 and £250.

Customers will have the full balance of the account paid into their Premier Current Account at the end of the 12-month period.

Hetal Parmar, manager for savings at Alliance & Leicester, said: "Premier Regular Saver is a fantastic incentive for people to kick-start a savings habit and at the end of the 12-month period, they will have saved up a nice little nest egg."

"This is a great time for customers to switch their current account to Alliance & Leicester," she added.

Last week the bank launched two new limited edition fixed-rate international bonds.
