Cheapest not always best with home insurance

Following news that more than a million households argue with their neighbours about noise, a spokesperson for the Association of British Insurers has urged consumers to ensure they have adequate home insurance cover should they enter a legal dispute.

Kelly Ostler-Coyle said: "When you are taking out taking out your home insurance you don't just want to go for the cheapest."

Rather, consumers should look at whether the policy includes legal cover and risk extensions, as well as clarifying exactly what belongings are covered, she advised

Ms Ostler-Coyle concluded: "You want to be looking properly at your policy to see what cover you have for everything and not just going on price."

Andrew Perryman from www.bestdealinsurance.co.uk recently warned that many people will see what seems like a good deal and purchase it without taking any advice, but have their claims rejected later because they are not properly covered.
