LV= Insurance axes "unfair" admin fees

Liverpool Victoria (LV=) has announced that it is removing "unfair" administration charges for its insurance customers.

From now on, policyholders will not be charged when the amend cover levels, change address, or cancel due to reasons outside of their control.

John O'Roarke, managing director at LV= general insurance, said the company was aware that customers will sometimes have to make minor changes for reasons that may not be their fault.

"We believe in offering good quality insurance policies, at competitive prices, with no hidden costs … at LV=, we operate a culture where treating customers fairly is central," he added.

In other insurance news, Lloyds TSB Insurance urged Britain's growing number of home-based workers to ensure they have adequate cover earlier today.

It cited data from the Office for National Statistics which showed that over three million people, or 11 per cent of the UK's workforce, now work from home.
