Alliance & Leicester International bond announced

Alliance & Leicester International has announced the launch of a new limited-edition one-year fixed-rate bond.

The bond is available immediately and offers a choice of annual interest at 6.65 per cent gross per annum AER of monthly interest at 6.45 per cent gross for those with a minimum balance of £50,000.

It has a maximum limit of £1 million and is available to both new and existing customers, although it must be opened with funds that are not already deposited with Alliance & Leicester International.

Simon Hull, managing director of Alliance & Leicester International, said: "We strive to offer the best rate possible in what is a highly competitive market and our fixed rate bond offers are proving to be very popular."

Last week Alliance & Leicester announced changes to its fixed-rate bonds, with the interest rate on its one-year product increasing to 6.65 per cent gross per annum AER.
