Sainsbury's Finance: Roubles add up for football fans

Sainsbury's Finance has estimated that football fans on a two-day visit to Moscow for the UEFA Champions League final will spend an average of £624 each.

Over half of that is likely to go on the cost of the hotel room, while meals, airport transfers and other expenses will also contribute.

That adds up to a total of 1.868 million roubles for all the visiting football fans, or £40 million.

Sainsbury's has urged those looking for foreign currency, be it roubles or euros, to shop around for competitive exchange rates and a comprehensive service.

It stated: "Sainsbury's Finance offers very competitive exchange rates and travellers cheques that are lost or stolen are refunded or replaced within 24 hours."

Earlier today, Abbey warned fans planning to travel to Moscow that they could end up paying more for a football affiliated credit card than a standard one.
