Launching today, the Alliance & Leicester mortgage products offer a wide range of features with customers able to choose a deal that allows the interest to track the Bank of England's base rate.
Or there are two fixed-rate options available from the group, with the five-year option allowing customers to borrow 90 per cent of the value of the property for a rate of 7.14 per cent.
The two-year fixed-rate Alliance & Leicester mortgage product has a lower rate of 6.14 per cent but homeowners may only borrow 75 per cent of the property's value.
Yesterday, Nationwide announced changes to the interest offered on its mortgage agreements.
The building society said in the current market further alterations should be expected, as rates on fixed deals increased while the interest on other mortgage products dropped.
