Capital One credit card offer is 'competitive'

Competition between credit card lenders is increasing following a new Capital one credit card deal, Samantha Owens from Moneyfacts.co.uk has said.

Ms Owens, who is the head of personal finance, stated credit card offers from providers are becoming increasingly beneficial to consumers - with Capital One now extending its zero per cent interest deal on balance transfers and purchases.

Although, she added that this should not be used by consumers as "a licence to spend".

"This time last year, for purchases, the best deal was 12 months and for balance transfers was 13. In the current market deals on balance transfers for 13 months are commonplace and credit card companies have to compete to attract new customers," she remarked.

According to a survey by AXA Financial Task Force recently, nearly half of teenagers aged between 15 and 17 are thinking of applying for a credit card when they turn 18.ADNFCR-323-ID-18621791-ADNFCR
