New current accounts launched by HSBC

Two new fee-free current accounts have been debuted by HSBC.

The two new accounts - HSBC Current Account and HSBC Current Account Advance - will offer a number of standard features, such as a debit card and the option for paperless statements.

In addition, HSBC general manager of customer propositions Carlos Wanderley stated that people who credit over £500 per month to their HSBC Current Account Advance will be offered additional features, such as free ID theft assistance, free mobile banking and access to the bank's eight per cent Regular Saver product.

"The new Current Account Advance will suit customers whose primary banking relationship is with HSBC and who will be using the account on a regular basis," Mr Wanderley explained.

He added that the new HSBC Current Account may be better suited to customers looking for a secondary account and suggested that it may be a good tool for helping people stick to a budget.

According to Moneyfacts.co.uk, current accounts offered by Alliance & Leicester, Abbey and Coventry Building Society are among those with the best introductory rates.ADNFCR-323-ID-18756312-ADNFCR
