Bank of Scotland and Yorkshire Bank launch new products

New investment and banking products have been launched by the Bank of Scotland and the Yorkshire Bank.

The Bank of Scotland's new Nikkei Supertracker is an investment product available for use in dollars or sterling.

It guarantees customers' initial capital investment as well as allowing investors to benefit from the performance of the Nikkei 225 Index over five years.

When the investment matures, customers who dealt in sterling will receive the initial investment back, plus 490 per cent of any index performance, with a maximum return of 49 per cent.

Dollar customers will receive their investment plus 330 per cent of any index performance, with a maximum return of 33 per cent.

Meanwhile, Yorkshire Bank's new Signature Current Account, intended for busy professionals, can be linked to a high interest savings account or an offset mortgage.

The account, which carries a monthly fee of £10, offers benefits claimed to be worth nearly £400 a year, including annual worldwide family travel insurance, car breakdown cover and full ID theft insurance.
