This index comprises the 30 biggest firms operating in the sector, such as those dealing with hydroelectricity or solar and wind power.
Customers can make investments in the Zurich Green Guaranteed Account until October 28th, with a 0.33 per cent bonus for applications made before September 29th.
Paul Wright, investment management director at Zurich, said that there has been a lot of interest in the account as well as positive feedback.
The account's key features include a 100 per cent guarantee on the capital and a maturity date of October 31st 2013.
Last month, research by Zurich found that thousands of tones of recyclable waster are going into landfills each year.
Zurich discovered that Britons are relying too much on eco-friendly schemes by local authorities rather than taking the initiative individually.
