Women pay less than men for pensions

Studying pension trends, Fairinvestment.co.uk discovered that women pay less than men even when factoring in their general lower earnings.
They earn three-quarters of what men do but pay less than the equivalent proportion into their retirement funds - just half of what men do.
The survey found that the average amount paid into a pension each month in Britain is £64.
According to Fairinvestment.co.uk's calculations, this is too little.
Sharon Bratley of Fairinvestment.co.uk said pensioners would "struggle" on such contributions.
She urged women in particular to save as much as possible.
In related news, charity Help the Aged has criticised the rise in the basic state pension as "much too little, much too late for millions of pensioners".
Spokesperson Mervyn Kohler said that 2.5 million pensioners are already in poverty and pointed out that the increase will not take effect for another six months.
