Bright Grey insurance increased

Bright Grey critical illness cover is being enhanced by new addition to the policy, it has been announced.

The number of ailments covered is now increased to 35, including four which go beyond the minimum required by the Association of British Insurers.

Cover for traumatic injury as part of aorta graft surgery has been added and facial burns are now included in insurance for third degree burns.

In the case of a policyholder falling into a coma, it is no longer necessary to be in use of a life support system for 96 hours continually in order to be covered.

Roger Edwards, proposition director at Bright Grey, said it was important to update and develop products.

Earlier this month, Bright Grey announced the launch of a new online calculator to help advisers with protection reviews for clients.

The tool enables clients to assess how much everyday purchases add up over a month, which can then be used to decide on a policy for adequate protection.
