AXA pensions programme launched

A new AXA pensions scheme is launched this month, the provider has announced.

The Save More Tomorrow pension automatically increases the contributions over time.

AXA claims it is the first of its kind in the UK, although similar schemes have proved popular in the US.

It is a company pension plan and is available to employers of all sizes.

Members gradually increase the level of pension contribution over several years, which can be timed to coincide with pay rises.

Mark Rowland, head of corporate partnerships at AXA Corporate Benefits, said the provider hoped the scheme would help people increase their pension pot and help halt the slide in the number of people taking out private pensions.

Earlier this month, AXA reported that the financial wellbeing of employees was due to be discussed at a debate taking place this week.

The event was due to be held at the London Stock Exchange to enable HR practitioners to discuss how responsible employers should be about their staff's personal financial situations.
