AXA insurance rates cut

AXA has announced cuts in the premiums on many of its insurance products, including life insurance, income protection and mortgage protection.

According to the insurance giant, approximately 59 per cent of all its premiums have now fallen in price, by an average of 6 per cent each.

Iain Mallon, director of protection marketing at AXA, said that the fall in the income protection premiums was particularly important because of the government's recent revisions of the incapacity benefit laws.

He added: "Our menu-based proposition allows advisers to mix and match cover to suit their client's needs and budgets.

"The revisions to our rates will make our covers even more affordable, without compromising on quality."

Earlier this month a study by LV= revealed that over one-quarter of people in the UK do not have enough saved to enable them to live comfortably if they were injured and unable to work.
