Standard Life to sell LV= protection plans

LV= has announced that it has teamed up with Standard Life in order to offer a wider range of customers its award-winning protection plans.

According to LV=, Standard Life's marketing and sales team will now offer Liverpool Victoria branded products - including the income protection plan which has won awards from independent analysts - to their customers.

LV='s director of distribution strategy and business development Stuart Tragheim said: "We are delighted to have won this partnership and to be the new provider of specialist protection solutions to Standard Life's customers."

Anne Gunther, chief executive of Standard Life client management, said that the new arrangement would enable them to offer clients "a holistic approach to their financial planning needs."

The two insurance brokers have decided to join forces at a time when many Brits are saying that life insurance is no longer one of their top priorities, according to a study conducted by Barclays.
