LV= and Nationwide to join forces on insurance

LV= has announced that it will be launching a "strategic partnership" with Nationwide Building Society, in order to sell insurance.

The partnership, which will run for an initial period of six years, will make LV= the exclusive provider of car and travel insurance to nationwide customers.

LV= will also underwrite Nationwide's business and shop insurance policies as well as their insurance for buy-to-let properties.

Nationwide's insurance marketing will now be handled by LV= as well as the administration of any new policies sold and any policies that have been renewed.

Mike Rogers, LV= group chief executive, said: "We share many of the same values as Nationwide and as fellow mutuals we can focus purely on providing the best products, prices and service to our members and customers."

Last week LV= announced the formation of another strategic insurance partnership, with the Edinburgh-based financial services provider Standard Life.
