Scottish Widows life insurance benefits BHF

Scottish Widows has announced that it is giving part of the profits from its sales of life insurance to the British Heart Foundation (BHF).

The insurer revealed that throughout December, it will be giving £1 to the BHF for every new life insurance policy sold.

BHF has signed up Scottish Widows and the rest of the Lloyds TSB group to a two year tie-in, which will see initiatives such as this one helping to fund the training of 15 new BHF nurses in local communities.

Richard Jones, marketing director of Scottish Widows, said: "We are very pleased to bolster our two year partnership with the BHF through our Protection For Life campaign."

This news comes after Prudential life insurance promoted its Vitality scheme last month.

The scheme rewards people with money off their life insurance for keeping their hearts healthy by taking exercise and eating well.
