Direct Line car insurance to be discounted

As from this month, the insurer is offering 12 months car insurance for the price of ten, which could be good news for anyone looking to save on their premiums because of the credit crunch.
Direct Line's comprehensive policies cover policy-holders for vandalism or accidents involving another driver who is uninsured. Claims for these reasons do not reduce policy-holders' no claims discount.
Maggie Game, head of car insurance at Direct Line, said: We are not on price comparison websites so we don't pay them commissions. This means that when you come to us direct we could give you savings."
Recently, Norwich Union published data which showed that January is the worst month of the year for car accidents. The short days combined with roads that are often icy make it dangerous for drivers, leading to more car insurance claims.
