Price comparison site offers halal car insurance

The car insurance is provided by Salaam Halal Insurance, which offers customers the opportunity to take out insurance from a company with an ethical standpoint which does not contradict the rules laid out in the Koran.
Moneysupermarket.com claimed that Salaam Halal's insurance could also appeal to non-Muslims who want an insurance company which doesn't invest in industries like alcohol or tobacco.
Bradley Brandon Cross, chief executive of Salaam Halal Insurance, said: "Prior to the launch of Salaam Halal insurance in July 2008 there were no alternatives to conventional UK insurance, which conflict with the core beliefs of the Muslim faith."
Although halal is usually used in the UK to describe food which conforms to Muslim dietary requirements, the original Arabic word has a much broader meaning covering any product which complies with the edicts of Islam.
