Post Office: Home insurance important in extreme weather

In a statement, the Post Office said that the recent snow storms - the most severe suffered by the UK for 18 years - had showed how important it is that homeowners to have the right level of cover in place.
The Post Office also said that the recent deluge of flood warnings - over 100 in recent days - mean households need to be more cautious than ever.
It added: "Whilst most contents policies will cover you for household items, it is essential that you know what your contents limit is and notify your insurer if you have any items that exceed this."
Recently, the Post Office's insurance division announced that customers would be able to purchase its life insurance policies over-the-counter in branches.
