NS&I: Financial health check scheme launched

National Savings and Investments (NS&I) has announced the launch of a new scheme aimed at persuading people in the UK to examine the health of their personal finances.

The scheme, which will be launched with a campaign featuring Sir Alan Sugar of the Apprentice fame, is called The Five Questions, as it aims to get people answering five key questions about their financial situation.

John Prout, director of customer sales and retention at NS&I, said that the campaign is part of the organisations' duty to help people gain a better understanding of the basics of personal finance.

He added: "Most people are very familiar with the healthy eating model of five portions daily.

"We want to encourage a similar mindset about financial planning to ensure people review their finances on a regular basis."

NS&I is a government-backed savings institution, which claims to be able provide 100 per cent secure investments to customers because it is backed by the treasury.
