Could a spring clean help your finances?

People in the UK have been urged to take a good look at their finances by one price comparison website and give them a good spring clean if necessary.

Fairinvestment.co.uk published statistics which reveal that many people have not reconsidered key financial factors like their choice of savings account provider recently, despite the onset of the recession.

According to a poll conducted by the website, 31 per cent of Brits have changed the way they save since the start of the credit crunch, with 14 per cent having to stop saving altogether, but only five per cent have shopped around to find the best savings account interest rates.

Sharon Bratley, chartered financial planner for Fairinvestment.co.uk, said: "There are so many benefits to a financial spring clean, and starting now could really save people some money by the end of the year."

Fairinvestment.co.uk attracts around 400,000 unique users every month.
