Tesco Health Insurance launches new levels of cover

Tesco Health Insurance has announced the launch of three new levels of cover, which it claims will give customers more flexibility.

The company's basic health insurance covers operations and procedures, including the costs of surgery and of cancer treatments like chemotherapy or radiotherapy, as well as the cost of treatments requiring an overnight hospital stay.

On top of this, customers can now choose to add one of two additional levels of cover. Consultations and Tests policy holders will also be covered for specific diagnostic tests and referrals to specialists.

The top level of cover, additional therapies, includes treatments such as physiotherapy chiropractic care and acupuncture.

Jeremy Sutton, head of Tesco Health Insurance said: "We have launched these new levels of cover in response to feedback, which told us customers wanted flexibility and choice, with a range of options, to suit their needs."

The Tesco group grew out of a market stall owned by Jack Cohen and is now the UK's largest retailer.
