Admiral offers insurance claim tips

Admiral has offered a list of ten tips aimed at those who want to claim on their car insurance.

The hints include remaining calm and controlled, even if the other driver is upset. Motorists are also advised not to discuss whose fault the accident is, as this is up to insurance companies to decide.

Admiral also recommends discretely checking if the other vehicle's tax disc is out of date, as a motorist who has not paid road tax may be uninsured.

Other tips include trying to take photos of the incident on a mobile phone or camera if it is safe to do so.

Stuart Morgan, claims director at Admiral, said: "Being in a car accident, no matter how minor is very stressful and it's easy to panic. By following these tips you should be able to make the incident less traumatic for yourself."

Admiral Insurance, which was founded in 1993, has around 1.75 million customers in the UK.
