Clydesdale Bank offers fee-free mortgages

Clydesdale Bank has announced that it will be offering customers fee-free remortgage deals for a limited period of time.

The bank said that it is currently waiving the fee on a range of fixed-rate mortgage products, including a two-year remortgage charging a fixed rate of 3.99 per cent.

Clydesdale Bank said that the fee-free offers essentially mean that customers taking out remortgages with them will save £999. The bank believes the special deal will prove popular with cash-strapped customers.

Steve Reid, retail director at Clydesdale Bank, said: "The current economic climate means that fewer people are moving home and instead are looking to remortgage in order to take advantage of more competitive mortgage rates."

Clydesdale Bank was founded in 1838 in Glasgow and now has a network of more than 150 retail branches across the UK.

The bank is now a member of the National Bank of Australia Group, which boasts more than 7 million customers worldwide.
