FairFX: Dollars going cheap

Currency trading website FairFX has announced that it is offering one of the cheapest deals on dollars currently on the market.

The website claims that its current currency deal - of $1.5 for £1 - makes it the only provider offering this exchange rate.

Stephen Heath, chief executive of FairFX, predicted that the deal would be "good news" for people in the UK who have "had a hard time" in recent months as the pound fell against key currencies such as the dollar and the euro.

He added: "Given the recent volatility in the currency market, anyone planning to spend US dollars in the coming months could save themselves a bundle by buying their currency online now while this great rate is available."

Earlier this year it emerged that some bureaus de change in UK airports were charging people more than £1 for every euro they purchased.
